Dr. Orci is the first ALAS Executive Director in the organization's history. This represents a new beginning for ALAS as it moves to national prominence in the quest to become the leading professional association advocating for Hispanic students. With an emphasis on leadership, mentoring, and best practices, ALAS brings together all parties seeking to improve academic success for all students.

Dr. Orci has served as superintendent in Tempe District No. 3 (Tempe, Arizona) and Northside Independent School District (San Antonio, Texas). He also served as a teacher, principal, director, associate superintendent, and deputy superintendent - instruction for the Clark County School District (Las Vegas, Nevada). His experience in the private sector included director of training for the Mirage Bellagio and Paris hotels in Las Vegas.

Before joining ALAS, he served as the Western Region Director for Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Orci is also a noted consultant, speaker, and trainer, particularly in the areas of strategic planning, leadership, diversity, organizational development, and the process of change.
